How We Built The LRP
The Life Readiness Playbook is Ascend Now's unique skills framework.
We combined our primary and secondary research to create a framework that not only deals with SEL skills but includes skills such as financial literacy, research and other hard skills.
We surveyed and interviewed 200+ students, parents, educators, and hiring managers to understand what skills are essential from their unique perspective and which of those skills aren't covered by the school model.

Personal Development
The Personal Development pillar is meant to focus on "the self". Our goal is to help students build their self-awareness, agency, and resilience.
Communication
The Communication pillar covers verbal, nonverbal, and visual. It also helps students improve their communication skills in a 1-1 and a 1-group format.

Learning
This section helps students develop curiosity and explorer instincts. We teach them problem-solving, study techniques, divergent thinking, and critical thinking.
Active Citizenship
The world is becoming more diverse. The Active Citizenship pillar focuses on improving one's tolerance as well as respect and empathy for their fellow peers.
Employability
The employability pillar has skills around time management, networking, negotiation, and task management. This bridges the gap between school and the workplace.
Tracks
This is where The Edge differentiates itself from other SEL platforms. We at The Edge believe certain hard skills can act as vehicles to apply and evaluate various soft skills. With these hard skill tracks, students can create a unique and competitive profile for college and gain valuable experiences that will help them build a career.
